Diversity & Inclusion

Great Island Productions Limited

Version 1.0 Adopted

We believe everyone should have a fair opportunity to contribute, develop and be treated with respect. This commitment covers employees, freelancers, applicants, cast and production participants in our company and the productions we manage.

Our commitment

We are committed to equal opportunity and to preventing unlawful discrimination on the grounds of gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, race (including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins), or membership of the Traveller community.

We value different perspectives and aim to create an environment where people can contribute without prejudice or exclusion.

Fair opportunities

Recruitment, engagement and casting decisions will be based on relevant skills, experience, suitability and the genuine requirements of the work, rather than assumptions or stereotypes about a person's background or identity.

Where a particular characteristic is relevant to a role, we will rely only on an exception permitted by applicable law, such as a genuine and determining occupational requirement with a legitimate objective and a proportionate requirement. A preference alone is not sufficient.

Accessibility and inclusion

We will discuss access needs and provide reasonable accommodations and accessibility adjustments where needed, in accordance with applicable obligations. This includes considering adjustments to recruitment, working arrangements and participation in productions.

Please contact our primary director below to discuss an access requirement. Information about individual needs will be handled sensitively and shared only as necessary to arrange support.

Dignity at work

We are committed to a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation. Everyone working with us is expected to treat others with dignity and respect.

Concerns will be taken seriously and addressed fairly. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern honestly or supports another person in doing so.

Raising a concern

Concerns can be raised directly with our designated directors, rather than through the general company inbox:

Primary contact: CFO/CTO – Founder
jim@greatislandproductions.com

Alternative contact: CEO – Founder
mark@greatislandproductions.com

You may use the alternative contact if the concern involves the primary contact, or if you are uncomfortable approaching them. If both contacts are involved, you may seek independent advice or use an appropriate external route.

Concerns will be handled discreetly, with information shared only where necessary for a fair response or to meet legal obligations. Absolute confidentiality cannot be promised where investigation or a fair opportunity to respond requires disclosure.

This public statement does not replace the detailed internal grievance and complaints procedures needed for employees and production personnel. It does not restrict anyone's statutory rights or access to external advice or remedies.

Responsibility and review

Our primary designated director is responsible for overseeing this commitment and reviewing it annually, or sooner if our circumstances or applicable requirements change. Our alternative director provides a separate route for concerns and supports accountability.

We will make the relevant contacts and procedures known to people working with us and update this statement when necessary.
